The contract is given a minimum output computed from this. If the curve moves further than that before the transaction lands, it reverts and you keep everything except the gas.
The 1.00% trade fee is charged on the ETH side and splits 70% to the creator, 30% to the platform. It is versioned in the contract, so it cannot be changed under a live curve.
